Blonde bombshell and uber-geek Kira Walker is a UNIX Systems Administrator who worked as a contractor for Intermountain Telecom in downtown Denver, Colorado. A graduate of MIT and a refugee from Silicon Valley, she's in Denver because that's where the money is. She shared an apartment with her closest friend, Susan Baker, who also contracted with Intermountain Telecom.
A bit of a hacker (or spider, as the preferred lingo goes) at heart, Kira has been forced into a somewhat conventional job that at least pays the bills. That all changes when a wolf attacks her and Susan in the middle of downtown Denver.
After the attack, things change -- and not necessary in a good way. She grows a penchant for raw meat, cleaning her apartment (because it stinks) and howling at the moon. She finds herself the love-interest of two intriguing men -- Detective Jim Walking Bear of the Denver police and Alaric Kerr, the Alpha of Denver's wolfpack.
